Barely Civil Releases Melancholy Music Video for “The Worst Part Of December”

Barely Civil released a music video for their latest song, “The Worst Part Of December,” available to watch now on The song is featured on their upcoming album, I’ll Figure This Out, dropping Sept. 4 via Take This To Heart Records.

“The Worst Part Of December” features soft-spoken vocals that touch on feeling lost and moving on. The music video matches the song’s somber, melancholy tones with fuzzy overlays and what appear to be home-video snippets.

It’s beautifully directed, perfectly capturing feeling isolated as you dive into self-reflection. Whether you’re moving on or just figuring yourself out, feeling detached from your environment is a feeling that all listeners can relate to in Barely Civil’s latest song.

You can watch Barely Civil’s new music video over at and pre-order I’ll Figure This Out. In addition, Take This To Heart Records will be donating $1 USD from each sale of I’ll Figure This Out Here to the Free the 350 Bail Fund.

As we’re currently grappling with the effects of nationwide protests, police brutality, and systemic racism, we realize that promoting records at this time might be our jobs, but it cannot be done without accountability and acknowledgment of the current (and future) landscape. That being said, $1 from each sale from this release on our webstore (and a release day donation match) will be sent to the Free the 350 Bail Fund, as this fight for justice, equality, and a steadfast commitment to uplifting Black voices and dismantling systems of oppression in America continues. Feel free to ignore this email if you so choose, or enjoy the music when you’re able.
