ICYMI: The Ones You Forgot released “Something For Me”

If you’re looking for uplifting pop rock tracks to add to your daily playlists, New Jersey rock band The Ones You Forgot released the perfect track back in July.

“Something For Me” is an inspiring track that echoes influences from early Kelly Clarkson and All Time Low. The Ones You Forgot explained that the song “embraces the freedom of escaping an unhealthy relationship, and the struggle that unfortunately comes along with it.” Anyone who’s waiting for a sign or inspiration to start something new or leave something bad can find strength in this song’s catchy lyrics.

One of the wonderful things about this new song is how the instrumentation echoes the meaning. The guitar riffs sound like they came right off the Vans Warped Tour circuit, echoing early pop rock influences of the 2000s. Anyone who’s obsessed with energetic pop punk will have no problem letting go and singing along to this song.

This is a new song for a genre otherwise based on nostalgia. If anyone’s looking to liven up their daily playlists while feeling like a kid with no worries, “Something For Me” by The Ones You Forgot is a song for you.
