Punk staple Less Than Jake announced a new EP titled Sound The Alarm, out February 3 through the band’s new label Pure Noise Records. The announcement was paired with the release of a brand new song titled “Things Change.” Fans can listen to the new song below the article, and pre-order the new record now on the band’s website.
“Things Change” pairs iconic, lively instrumentals with almost aggressively positive lyrics. Vinnie Fiorello, Less Than Jake’s lyricist and drummer, says that a lyric in the chorus (“the only thing constant is change”) is a “massive truth” to him and the basis of the song.
Recorded and produced by Roger Lima and mixed at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO, Sound The Alarm was finished shortly after the band’s run on last year’s Warped Tour. The EP is also Less Than Jake’s first release through their new record label, Pure Noise Records. The band has released many records through various major and independent labels across their 25 year career, and have found a “mutual respect between band and label” in Pure Noise Records.
In addition to dropping a new song and announcing a new EP, Less Than Jake have planned a co-headline U.S. Tour with fellow Warped Tour ’16 band Pepper. The tour starts in Dallas, TX on January 20 and ends in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 28. Tickets are on sale now on the band’s website, and a full list of tour dates can be found below. The new EP Sound the Alarm is set to drop February 3 via Pure Noise Records.
