This is not a drill. Alicia Keys just released a single. The new song “In Common” is her first single since her single released last July, “28 Thousand Days,” and is set to appear on her upcoming album, due out later this year.
“In Common” is a catchy, Latin-infused song that was written by Keys, Illangelo, Tayla Parks, Billy Wash, and is produced by Illangelo. Keys sings about how she and her lover “have way too much in common” in time to the playful, Latin inspired melody. It’s got the kind of flow that makes you want to play it over and over again.
The upcoming, sixth LP will be a follow up to Alicia Keys’ 2012 album Girl on Fire, and is confirmed for release later this year. Since 2012, Keys has been releasing songs on and off – including a team up with Kendrick Lamar for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack and the previous single, “28 Thousand Days.”
In addition, Alicia Keys is set to appear on Saturday Night Live this Saturday with host Brie Larson.
