SoundCloud is the world’s largest music and audio platform, with around 175 million monthly listeners and 12 million creators that upload music onto the service. However, it might not be as well-known as streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, and others. Their new venture might make that a game changer. Announced just today, SoundCloud Go will be a subscription service that offers “an additional layer of music and intuitive supporting features, created to complement and enhance the existing experience listeners love today.”
The new features exclusively available to SoundCloud Go will include access to an “expanded” catalog of both established and emerging artists, ability to listen to content offline, and ad-free listening. The subscription service made its U.S. debut today, with a price tag starting at 9.99 USD a month. But don’t worry – all of the sounds you’re still accustomed to will remain free but with ads, with SoundCloud Go offered as a premium upgrade.

SoundCloud has been a longtime favorite of both established and newer artists, and unlike Apple Music and Spotify, SoundCloud has an active community that interact with each other and share each other.
