Can’t Swim has just announced that they will be releasing their EP, Death Deserves A Name, on February 26. The EP will be released through Pure Noise Records, and fans can pre-order the EP today. The band also released a new song off the EP, titled “Come Home,” which can be listened to on the Can’t Swim MerchNow Site or below this article.
“Come Home” is a melodic song with intensely personal lyrics. The melody flitters between harsh and gentle, while the lyrics and vocals tell an emotionally intense story. The intense and vivid feeling washes over the listener and you find yourself immersed in the song and the story. “Come Home” also shows a lot of talent for a band that only formed in 2015, and proves not only that they have a lot to say, but that it’s worth listening to.
“”Come Home” came together pretty quickly. Originally, the chorus was much slower with a half-time rhythm, but I couldn’t quite put the whole song together. Once I sent the demo to Danny (drummer/producer for the band) he suggested that we sped it up. The energetic pace completely changed the song and that pushed me to write a verse and bridge to match the intensity.”
