“Jet Black Heart” by 5 Seconds of Summer: Single Review

5 Seconds of Summer have released their third single off of their second studio album, allowing “Jet Black Heart” to join “She’s Kinda Hot” and “Fly Away” on the airwaves. “Jet Black Heart” premiered about a week ago, and I’m curious to see if there will be more material this week since they’ve been so busy lately.

The song starts off slow and beat heavy, but quickly blends into a gently chaotic melody that flows perfectly with the vocals. The song is heavily evocative, and quickly envelops the listener in the sheer amount of emotion that you can hear in the song. The song becomes more layered vocally and just blooms as it continues to play. The song just takes so many different directions and stitches them together so perfectly… I was easily swept off my feet by this song.

“Jet Black Heart” is easily a favorite because it is an absolutely gorgeous song that has so much to offer that it is borderline overwhelming. I definitely recommend taking the time out to listen to this track because it is just beyond description in places. The second studio album from 5 Seconds of Summer, Sounds Good Feels Good, is currently set to release on October 23.
