Taking Back Sunday released a new music video for their song “Better Homes And Gardens,” off of Happiness Is: The Complete Recordings. The album is a reissue of the album Happiness Is that released in 2014 through Hopeless Records. Happiness Is: The Complete Recordings will include bonus tracks from the studio recordings of the original record.
The music video for “Better Homes And Gardens” is directed by DJay Brawner of Anthem Films, Inc. Brawner has also directed music videos for the likes of Panic! At the Disco and Refused, but he had a lot of fun working with Taking Back Sunday again. He even went on to call it “the most intense 3hrs of filming I’ve ever been a part of.”
“It was an awesome experience working with Adam [Lazzara] again on this shoot. We got to collaborate a lot on this one, figuring out how we would achieve this, where we would achieve it, and what kind of performance we wanted from him. This song was an emotional one for him, but we kept it real which was a lot of fun.
– Djay Brawner
The concept for the music video came from Eddie Reyes, who had the idea of “watching a home burn to the soundtrack of ‘Better Homes and Gardens,’” vocalist Adam Lazzara said. The music video for “Better Homes and Gardens” was filmed in Greensboro, NC, and the band and Brawner had a lot of help from the local fire department making the firey vision come to life.
Taking Back Sunday are finishing off May with a list of UK tour dates, and will have just a handful of concerts in the US over the summer. The band is also set to perform at the Alternative Press Music Awards on July 23rd, taking place in Cleveland Ohio.
