“Can’t Deny My Love” by Brandon Flowers: Single Review

The Killers remain on hiatus, but why should that stop the artists within the band from releasing new material? This week hosts the release of the first single off singer Brandon Flower’s second solo album. While the artwork for “Can’t Deny My Love” is simple and direct to the point, the track is extremely creative.

The song starts off with a quick build and the vocals that start off are the sort of classic sound I’ve come to expect from Branden Flowers. Quickly though it becomes clear that he’s going to push the limits as the tempo and pacing of both instruments and vocals changes to a more electronic sound before switching gears and entering an intense and loud section of the song. The song manages to balance these extreme changes with ease, and there is even a period where the tempo slows dramatically. “Can’t Deny My Love” is a balance of a variety of sounds and speeds that compliment each other perfectly.

I adore it. It’s been stuck in my head since I first heard it and I am incredibly excited to hear the rest of the album. The song is emotive and energetic and I really can’t stop listening to it. I definitely hope that you’ll give it a chance because there is a lot of talent behind the track. Brandon Flowers’s second solo album, The Desired Effect, is currently set to be released on May 18.
